Pooja Chauhan a hapless wife, daughter-in-law and mother was driven to strip down in a gesture which bespoke of aberrant helplessness, after repeated complaints to the Police accusing her husband and in laws of torture fell on deaf ears. Her fault: She gave birth to a baby daughter 8 months ago when her in laws desired a son. Also she refused to bring in more dowry as was being constantly demanded (more…)

The Federal Censor Board of Pakistan has decided to finally lift its ban on Indian films ..albeit conditionally. Are we supposed to trill in glee?

Any Indian film with a Pakistani co-producer or having a Pakistani cast and shot outside India can be released in Pakistan.

Deserved of a polemic debate imho despite the congruence of our cultural ethos which invites bondedness and elicits no surprise at the phenomenon of similarity in preferences . (more…)

Brace yourself for some wild gloating about moi in Toi.. in the second half of this post!!

She is as yet, I presume, wondering whether it has to do with her prayers or the almost perfect ‘pakoras’. Drat.. will she ever guess it has to do with almost perfect weather? Come October and my elephantine memory is gonna get her into a chase! (more…)
