Its been the longest gap ever in my postings at Sachiniti. If regularity be the sine qua non of a successful blogger then I plead guilty. Rreasons are indescribable and nebulous.
Badinage not being a forte, nescience not necessarily the culprit. Perhaps it was just a plethora of undientified thoughts as if engulfing you into…..numbness.
Everyday commenced with a resolve to ‘write a post’. Topic? There was the gruesome murder of Aarushi Talwar a 14 year old aglow with what only youth can afford. But something held me back. I was tentative on the facts presented. Something seemed amiss.. the mothers unexpectedly cold reaction, fathers seemingly innocent demeanour, cops turning a blind eye to glaring clues. It befuddled me and I found I had nothing to say until the case is proven. Not for a minute do I believe the father Rajesh Talwar to be the culprit.
My tryst with Swami Vivekananada which commenced in 1994 is on to its third reading. He leaves you unfit for the world and hence the blog. There was so much I wished to share with you all.. but ‘being’ with his writings is as if diving into a sea of limitless possibilities, none of which consist of bubbling back to the mundane..hence the arrest of further thought on a blog in the matter.
Since purchase of a new car was in the offing.. test drives were aplenty. I confess for me a Toyota or a Volks bear little to show them apart. Hubby and son are aghast and have tried their darnedest in exasperated tones’ How can you not differentiate.. look at the shape, bumper and the headlamps”.. I tried.. believe me and all I saw were …a shape, bumper and headlamps. Son of course is into torque and technicalities that go way ‘bumper’ over me…Anyway to cut a long story short.. test drives were taken religiously. It began with the Merc, then the BMW, Volkswagen, Toyota, Honda Crv and then the latest Honda Accord. For the life of me I cannot understand just why is the Merc so heavily priced!! The BMW was pathetic, in its look, cabin space, features. Volkswagen was fine . But the Best according to me was the new Accord.. simply classic.
With the amount of chit chat going on comparing the vehicles I thought I’d include you all in. But felt.. there wasnt anything much I’d contribute since I was stuck on the Accord.. VFM.. 20lacs.. which meant one could buy a Honda civic and an Accord for the price of a Merc ( I suspect bought only for the status tag..ah..ah..thats inessential) which was just no comaprison in the ride, features to the Accord. They even have a facility to access the bootspace from within the back seat ( wow! on long trips when you want to get your vanity out, no need to stop car…. just pop it up) and a control panel for the a/c etc in the arm rest at the back. Just how nifty was that! Oh yes and the features of reverse sensors, display panel, fully automatic humless drive ( believe u me it was silent as hell)..I loved it. And it grabs the road as if stuck on it.. even on the steepest zigzag we test drove on. No pull back on a slope ( it scares the wits outa me ) no screech in the sharpest of brake moment..just fantastic.
And then there was the anger over the SC order of raising the OBC quota to 50%!!! it makes you wince and hope you were a tribal mother for the sake of your son!! Its 60 years for Gods sake and how long is this quota business going to carry on.? Just what is the rationale behind this ? Are our children privy to MORE? If yes how where what? Jeez.. it hurts..!!
Saw a few movies I would have liked to review..but didnt feel excited enough. Sarkar raj, Jannat etc.. both good imo.. the others werent worth a mention.
Oh there was a topic a day.. but the fingers werent co operating, mind was as if on a vacation..So sorry guys if you have been coming here and cursing like ” No post.. what the hell is she up to?”.. sigh..nothing..just..feeling….ummm..blank..
Definitely a good choice.

First welcome back.. you upset my morning routine. There are a few blogs i visit everyday…yours is one. So it makes you wonder what is missing in the day and i mean this in the best possible way.
So there is someone else who feels the same about Aarushis mothers reaction.I found it really weird. Too composed and going about her business-as-usual calm.

It was delightful to see another post on your blog. Welcome back.. like dilip, it has become my daily routine to once visit your blog. Regarding the choice of your cars, yes.. you are looking at The Car.. i.e accord.. I have worked in automobile industry for a couple of years so know some bits of it though not everything.. Merc is expensive because it is one of the safest cars on the road. the germans have really put in a lot of safety features and design changes into it.. so for that price, it is good for those whose tijoris are full and who want to remain extra safe on the road. In fact in a study done in US, 2 yrs back.. they rated mercedes benz e class as the safest car running on the road.. But Honda accord is a good choice.. Honda has really paid attention to small-2 details in the car which make the journey more comfortable and enjoyable. I have recently bought one and its a delight driving it.

Dear Dilip and Rajeev.. you guys made my day. Such warm words for a lonely blogger can work wonders.. it reinvigorates, fills one with a zeal and enthu sooooo needed..thanx.. love ya.
Dilip..Yeah.. and the conundrum continues. The Doctor is in for a polygraph test for the nth time. Somehow i get the feeling that since the police first and the CBI have failed to nail the culprit they arent letting go of the Doc to pretend as if all is well..

Wow Rajeev.. you an automobile man!! I get the point of reasons for the premium on Merc..but Accord to me seems safe as well.. Till a few years ago Merc was in the region of 23-25 lacs ..fully loaded. This sudden spurt is incomprehensible.I believe it is a status symbol and they kn ow it so well they are making you pay for making an ‘ I have arrived statement’ although i personally think its passe to think like that. The S class was also driven.. but where was the big deal? Sun roof? Who is ever going to use it in India? Technology.. maybe yes..but Accord seems to cater on that arena as well. Safe and stylish..
BTW there was an anoouncement of the Honda hybrid.. battery+ fuel. priced intentionally at a prohibitive 21 lacs for a Civic!! The point is that the technology of a battery operated car rto do away with the fuel hang ups is on the anvil. Obviously the lobby trying to derail it is strong. Why would anyone pay 21 for a civic when the Accord is for the same.. ordinarily the Civic in India is 11 or so. An extra 10 lacs to save on fuel costs which even on petrol wouldnt have come to that figure in 10 years.. quite an eye wash.

So did you go with the Accord. I am a Lexus loyalist and I used to drive an Acura which is from the Honda family. You cannot beat the innovation, simplicity and thought of the japanese cars. I have a Merc too which I am trying to sell now – it is absolutely a status symbol and nothing more. Overpriced.. and it costs you a bundle to fix problems. And last but not the least – german over-engineering…
